About the series:
Across three concerts, the trio invites outstanding musicians to join them as featured soloists, creating performances built entirely on free improvisation and direct interaction with the visual art on display.
Each edition is conceived as a unique encounter. The music responds to the current exhibition in the gallery, allowing sound, space, and image to shape one another in real time. No two concerts are alike. What emerges exists only in that specific moment, in that specific room.
On 14 March, American composer and prepared violist Julie Michael joins the trio for an evening of exploratory textures and spontaneous composition.
The series continues on 19 April with world renowned trumpet virtuoso Peter Evans, whose fearless musical language promises a powerful and high intensity collaboration.

In late May, American/Dutch saxophone path breaker Michael Moore concludes the series, bringing his distinctive voice to this evolving dialogue between improvisation and visual art.
With Never Before / Ever After, The New Amsterdam Trio creates a platform for risk, exchange, and artistic discovery. It is music shaped by presence, curiosity, and the willingness to enter the unknown.
